Perception Lab Online Experiments

I'm Better Looking Than That! In this experiment you will be asked to complete 3 tasks: (1) A quick series of questions about general demography, mood and comparison tendencies; (2) A viewing task where you get to decide how long to view each face; (3) A rating task where you will be asked to rate how attractive each person is. The whole experiment should take 15-20 minutes to complete.

Make Me Beautiful: In this experiment you will be asked to alter faces to make them appear most attractive. You will also be asked a series of questions about your views of your own appearance. This test should take about 5 minutes to complete.

Economic Games: In this experiment you will be presented with faces and asked if you want to cooperate with them. At the end of the block you will see how much you and your partners have won. The experiment takes 3 minutes to complete.

Beauty makeover: In this experiment you will be asked to fill out a brief questionnaire. You will then manipulate male and female faces to make them look most attractive. It should take about 5 minutes.

How generous am I?: In this experiment you will be presented with faces and asked to judge how generous they are? At the end of the experiment you will be asked some questions about yourself. The experiment takes 5 minutes to complete.

A Tall Order: In this experiment you will be asked to fill out a brief questionnaire. You will then rate male and female faces for how tall the person looks. It should take about 3 minutes.

Social Perception: In this experiment you will judge faces on different characteristics. There is no right or wrong answer. It will take you about 5 minutes!

What Women Want: This experiment is for WOMEN WHO ARE PREGNANT, HAVE HAD A CHILD IN THE PAST YEAR OR ARE CURRENTLY USING HORMONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY (HRT). We will first ask you a series of questions relating to your menstrual cycle to assess your hormonal profile. Next you will do a simple experiment where you view a series of faces, but you get to decide how long to look at each face!
